One address for questions, one route for complaints.
Most matters need no call: the portal shows the status, the next-action owner and any task for you. When you do need a person, this is how to reach one, and what happens next.
Ways to reach us
Read on business days. Quote the matter reference (FD-2026-000000) if you have one. Please do not put firearm serial numbers or identity numbers in an email; they belong in the portal.
Telephone
A telephone number will be published here shortly. If you would rather talk than write, email us your number and the best time to call, and we will phone you.
Business hours, South African time. Outside those hours, email and we respond the next business day.
Address and entity
Firearmdesk is operated by Wayne de Jager, trading as Firearmdesk, at 44 Bosduif Street, George, 6529, which is also the address for legal service. The operating company is registered and its name is being finalised; the registered name and number will appear here once settled. Email support@firearmdesk.co.za.
Before you write
- Referring firms: the matter page shows the status, the next-action owner and the document register. Sign in at professional login; a firm's portal is created from the personal link in its first acknowledgement email.
- Executors: open the link in the email we sent you. If the link no longer works, enter your email address here and we will send a fresh one. If you are not sure whether you are the executor, the attorney handling the estate can tell you.
- Custody sites, valuers and partners: use the portal for anything about a matter; email for anything about your account or agreement.
Complaints and escalation
A complaint is anything you want put right, about the service, a document, a charge or how you were treated. Send it to support@firearmdesk.co.za with the word "complaint" in the subject and the matter reference if there is one.
- Acknowledgement. We aim to acknowledge within two business days with a reference and the name of the person handling it.
- Answer. We aim to answer within ten business days. If it will take longer, for example because a custody site or valuer must respond, we tell you why and when.
- Escalation. If you are not satisfied, reply and ask for escalation; it goes to the founder of Firearmdesk, who reviews the file and answers personally.
Outside Firearmdesk: a complaint about personal information may go to the Information Regulator (South Africa) through eservices.inforegulator.org.za or POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za (full details in the privacy notice). A consumer complaint may go to the National Consumer Commission. A complaint about an attorney's conduct belongs with the Legal Practice Council, not with us; we are not a law firm and do not give legal advice.
Safety
If a firearm poses an immediate danger to anyone, contact the South African Police Service on 10111 first; nothing we do replaces the police. Then tell us: a referral marked "safety concern" is placed at the top of our operations queue for immediate review, and our team contacts the referrer as soon as it is picked up.
Security reports
If you believe you have found a security weakness in this site or the portal, email support@firearmdesk.co.za with "security" in the subject. Please do not access other people's matters to demonstrate it. We acknowledge every report and do not pursue good-faith researchers.
